Differences I do see:
- Thread "bump" changed to 10 hour intervals [or maybe it was always 10 hours and we've just been pretending it was 6?]
- I'm pretty sure in some ways, this rule applies to Digital-Dish.com [I don't think IMVU is real happy with my site anyways.]
Offsite Linking
Any offsite link must adhere to our Terms of Service.
The following forms of links are prohibited:
- Links to commercial sites
- Direct links to competitor sites
- Links to phishing or other malicious sites
- Links to any content that is considered Access Pass or Unfit for IMVU
- Any links to pornographic or hate sites. Any instances of this type of linking may result in a permanent ban from the forums and may also include disablement of your IMVU Account.
- Pretty sure this one is new as well:
Requests for Charitable DonationsSo what do you all think? Anything I missed?
As per IMVU’s Terms of Service, requests for charitable donations are not permitted. Donation requests that benefit federally recognized 501.c3 organizations are the exception. If you feel your cause in support of a 501.c3 org should be considered, please send your request to communityteam@imvu.com for pre-approval.

WOW... Um. the forum rule of bumping every 6 hours was a great rule, and it was stated a long time ago.. Why would they change it to 10?? To keep people from spamming?? Although people "Spam" all the time...
The off-site linking sounds like a bunch of Crap to me, I think off-site linking should be fine as long as you are not linking users to Adult rated content.
No, 6 hours was on the rules, they changed it D:
They also added no flashy pictures for photo something epilepsy people. LOL
the photo sensitivity rules have been there for a long time, i think they just moved them to the new thread.
and how i read the rules, linking to this blog would be allowed because it is imvu related.
"only sites and services directly related to IMVU can be advertised."
but the rules should exist so people cant link to whatever they please, but you can link to blogs like this or resellers, or personal websites for IMVU like advent's and DA's.
The photo sensitivity rules didn't exist prior to this - not in written form. At least I'm pretty sure they didn't. Like so many rules on the forums, it was a spoken rule that the majority of us knew about.
There needs to be a clarification of the rules. It also states that DIRECT links to competitor sites is prohibited. Re-sellers are in fact, competitors. We're already not allowed to link to resellers directly in Shout Outs - we have to link to their corresponding IMVU Home page instead.
[And if we wanna get technical, I am competing with IMVU - for your attention. You could all sit and wait and read their blog instead but isn't mine much more fun and real? lol]
Definitely, haha =p
The Photo sensitivity rule is an old rule, I remember reading about it, when I first entered into the forums about a year ago, and back then I thought it was a stupid rule, but now, Im actually quite pleased with it. Since Flashing things give me headaches, (Even in real life, flashing signs, lights, so on and so forth).
I still think the bump every 6 hours should be the rule instead of making it 10. Who's online every 10 hours anyways...?? (well I am, since I have no life at all..but still.. point being)
Wow, I think IMVU is definitely jealous of the resellers. IMVU definitely has their panties in a bunch...or toooo tight...at that.
Heehee So tight, I see red pixels showing! Naughty IMVU! :D
Chemical is right about the PSE rule existing for a year, it was originally Mommajack's post in Keef's original "Forum Rules" thread.
Glad you posted this. I noticed the change in the bump rule, but had a hard time figuring out what else had changed. Yet again they leave it for the users to figure out on their own. (God forbid they notate change dates in the actual document, that would be asking too much.)
